ABRAHAM PAPALI’I

Connacht Rugby signed ABRAHAM PAPALI’I in July 2020, he moved from Bay of Plenty who play in New Zealand’s Mitre Cup.

He previously played for Waitakere in the Auckland mens competition and also represented Massey Rugby in the north harbour region in his early years after high school. He previously played rugby league as a second-row, lock and centre for Lézignan Sangliers in the Elite One Championship competition. After leaving France he went back to Auckland and played for the pt Chev pirates where he also managed to play a game for the Nz Warriors NSW cup team in reserve grade. He previously played for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL.

Westmeath Footballers

Westmeath’s history is that of a minor county which only recently rose to the higher ranks of football. Its 2004 Leinster provincial title was presaged by a 1995 All-Ireland Minor title and victory in the 1999 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship.

Westmeath Hurlers

The senior hurlers beat Carlow by two points in the Leinster Qualifier group and extended their winning run beating favourites, Antrim 1–21 to 0–7.

A famous victory over near rivals Offaly was achieved in May 2016 in the Leinster Championship. Westmeath led by some distance for the entire game before winning 2–21 to 1–10.

Leinster Rugby is one of the worlds top professional rugby teams, the play their games at the RDS or Aviva stadium,  they are the most successful Irish team both domestically and in European competition.

Munster Rugby

Munster Rugby plays their home games in Limerick and Cork, Thomand Park would be more common and would be the traditional home for the team. They compete in the Pro14 and the European Rugby Champions Cup.

Ulster Rugby

Ulster Rugby is based in Belfast and plays their home games at Ravenhill, they are one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. They compete in the Pro14 and the European Rugby Champions
